[Photo] Bucheon becomes UNESCO City of Literature

UNESCO announced on its website that the city of Bucehon in Gyeonggi Province been designated a “UNESCO City of Literature” on Nov. 1. Bucheon became the 21st city worldwide to receive the designation, and the first in Asia. Among the previous cities receiving this designation were Edinburgh, Dublin, and Prague. Since 2004, UNESCO has been reviewing cities around the world and designating them as creative cities in seven different areas: literature, design, film, media art, food, crafts and music.
